SUNDAY FEBRUARY 8

14.00-17.00 Art and Science: the future dialogue

IASPIS - The Swedish Arts Grants Committee's International Programme for Visual Artists, Maria skolgata 87

The event will include presentations of the ArtResLab project, a summery and reflection on the art-science collaborations of the Fugue, along with conversations about the visions, problematics and future of art-science collaborations.

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

The Fugue is the 14th session that OuUnPo organizes and will allow art and science to enter into a novel dialogue. It will start a new chapter in the group's history marking the return to Europe after ambitious sessions in Beirut (2012), Tokyo (2013) and Sao Paulo (2014).

The Stockholm session is structured as a polyphonic music formula including interventions by scientists, visual artists, musicians, philosophers, researchers and curators.

We will open the week together with the exhibition Artists Adrift at Bonniers konsthall, where we will explore our overlapping themes in conversations with the participating artists, as well presenting sound installations by Elena Nemkova and Natasha Rosling.

Psychiatrist and neuroscientist Predrag Petrovic will give a public lecture on how we perceive our constantly changing reality at the disused nuclear power plant 30 meters underneath the Royal Institute of Technology, followed by a course on escapism through screenings of short movies curated by Elena Nemkova.

Italian artist Jacopo Miliani who is artist-in-residence at MDT has created a dance universe together with Jean-Louis Huhta, Sanna Söderholm and Carima Neusser. He will present the outcome at the Dance Museum. The piece will deceive our vision and explore how we function in darkness.

At the Italian Cultural Institute music psychologist and neuroscientist Laszlo Harmat will lecture on the parallels between the fugue and the organization of the brain, followed by a musical performance of a Bach fugue by Anna Buchenhorst of the Stockholm Royal Opera and much, much more!

Each event is freestanding and self-contained so that you as a visitor can choose to attend a single activity, a whole day or the entire session.

The festival creates a collage of events as it moves across the city. The participation of local contributors, spaces, institutions and audiences will offer opportunities for new alliances and generate unexpected and novel constellations.

OuUnPo invites you on a journey through well-known places, where identities can be dissolved and merged only to re-appear to give new light to age-old problems.

As an integrated part of OuUnPo's Stockholm Session in Stockholm Naïvité will present a freestanding event and the first part of the curatorial project Dream of the Palace later this spring. Inspired by ancient memory techniques, an experiential lab session will be given, where topics of imagination, dwellings and identity are to be explored with all senses.
